The meaning of the Spanish word ‘tostar’ is to toast. A tostada is a small corn tortilla that has been deep fried until crispy. This is the more-authentic version of the U-shaped “taco shells” that you will find in Tex-Mex cooking. Our Tostadas are made using a traditional recipe with stone ground nixtamalized maize.
Tostadas are mainly eaten as a starter. The crispy tortilla is layered with different ingredients, such as refried beans, chicken, mince or fish, topped with lettuce, avo, salsa, guacamole, sour cream and cheese.
Shelf life: 7 months. Keep product properly sealed in an airtight container in a dry cool place. Once packet has been opened, reseal and use within 1 week.
